Casa del Mar
Located in an exclusive area inside Tulemar, Casa del Mar is a luxurious, 2 story, 2 bedroom retreat nestled into the jungle hillside. It offers panoramic views of the ocean and lush jungle.
The villa is luxuriously furnished and has high end appliances throughout. As you enter through the huge teak door you pass into the over-sized living and kitchen area. There is also a 1/2 bath and a large daybed / TV on this floor. This leads to large wrap-around veranda with stunning view of the ocean and jungle, an outdoor dining area and a jacuzzi tub.
On the lower level are 2 suites, one with 2 queen beds and one with 1 king, luxurious mattresses and their own terrace. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with stone counters and an indoor and outdoor raindrop shower.
While this privately owned villa may look similar to others, that's where the similarity stops. Upgraded electronics including flat screen TVs, a Bose iPod dock and a private, high-speed wireless Internet system keep you entertained and up-to-date.
You'll also have your own personal concierge — Mauricio! Mauricio (see right) will not only help with your plans and the details of your stay, but he'll make the trip easy and even more fun. Upon your arrival, he'll greet you at the door of Casa del Mar, having filled it with flowers and prepared it with some special surprises just for you.
A unique feature of this casa is its location; on a level area with adjacent parking, easy for those that might have difficulty with steps and ramps leading to the front door.
Use of the four resort pools is included.
Concierge
One of the things our guests rave about the most, is the unexpected and unrivalled service they received during their stay from Mauricio, their own personal concierge. Mauricio, a native of Costa Rica, graduated from ULACIT university with a business degree and then spent three years in the US working and studying English. After his time in the US, he returned to Costa Rica to work in banking and hospitality, learning the high level of service required to excel in both industries.
Mauricio has worked with Dave Houck from the beginning in management, marketing and as a business partner. He takes pride in knowing what guests expect staying in a luxury vacation rental, and utilizes his extensive network of local contacts to fulfill all our guests' wishes.
You can feel comfortable at knowing that whatever you need during your stay will be taken care of by Mauricio. As one of guests remarked "He knew what we would need before we even asked".

We had an incredible time at the Tulemar Bungalows & Villa's over the Christmas holidays. Our group consisted of two families: 4 adults and 4 "children" (18 to 24 years old). We stayed in the Casa del Mar and loved everything about our stay. The house was amazing: very well laid out, wrap around decks on both levels, terrific views from all windows, and was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed.
The beach at Tulemar is lovely and private. Drinks and food are available in addition to chairs, towels, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. There is a great deal of wildlife on site: we saw sloths, lizards, 2 types of monkeys and a flock of toucans were in the trees right off our deck. In addition there are good restaurants within walking distance of Tulemar.
However, perhaps the best feature of Tulemar is the incredible service we received from the staff, in particular the concierges, Julien & Mauricio. They did a wonderful job of helping us plan activities, transportation, meals, etc both before we arrived and once we were there. They were friendly, patient, prompt and went the extra mile to make sure we had a wonderful time. We booked through Dave at www.4tulemar.com. Costa Rica, and the area around Manuel Antonio in particular, is a fabulous spot for a family vacation; it can be extremely relaxing, but there are plenty of exciting things to do (rafting, zip lining, sailing, etc). We walked into our Casa del Mar near Manuel Antonio Park and were absolutely blown away by the gorgeous view of the rainforest and the beach cove below. The 2 wrap around terraces one with a hot tub provided for relaxing, eating and lots of fun. The rooms were spectacular and furnished with everything you could want. The pools, the beach, the monkeys, etc. only added to the fabulous ambience. The concierge services were outstanding. From the minute we booked the hotel we were taken care of. They helped arrange a private van from the San Jose right to the door of the villa. Helped us make food arrangements, organize leisure events like jet-skiing, surfing, and massages. The place itself had good internet, amenities, two outdoor showers where you could shower and see the ocean, and plenty of room to lounge around. We spent hours out on the balcony looking at the view, on our computers, and having cocktails. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
