Its area en­com­pass­es 687 hectares (1,700 acres) of land mass and 55,000 hectares (135,905 acres) of marine reserve. The National Park contains some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. You will have an opportunity to observe birds, mammals, reptiles, mangroves, primary and secondary tropical rainforest, as well as the most beautiful beaches.

Los Quetzales National Park:

This tour provides the best opportunity to see the Resplendent Quetzal, a brilliantly feathered bird that was considered divine by Pre-Colombian peoples. Situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level, the national park is two hours by car from Manuel Antonio. This tour includes a bilingual guide and is available with or without a private driver. Temperatures are substantially cooler at this elevation, so warm clothes are advised. This private guide can accept only cash for payment.
